Devious Journal Entry

Sun Jul 5, 2009, 9:25 AM
  • Mood: Tired
  • Listening to: The clicking keyboards of three computers
  • Reading: Anna Karenina & some Chekov
Wow. Seriously slacking on the dA journal-entry front.
Unfortunately, my life is not very interesting. SO, I have decided to comment on some of the movies I have seen lately...

UP --****-- OMG loved it. Leave it to Disney to make a crochety old man into a hero. The colors were phenomenal, and it was the first movie I've ever seen in 3-D, which made it totally schweet. Added bonuses: Christopher Plummer and the fact that Carl looked like Spencer Tracy. *Double melt*

SEVEN POUNDS -- **-- I guess now I understand why they couldn't explain anything about the plot in the previews. I found it fairly boring until the last third or so, and by then I had figured out the colossal secret that was obviously supposed to be a surprise. The best part about this movie? Rosario Dawson. Seriously, I'll now see anything she's in.

MY SISTER'S KEEPER --*-- Ugh. I am so pissed about this movie. If you've read the book, do not, I repeat: DO NOT go see this film. They fricken rewrote the ending (The entire point of the story) and ruined it. Also, the weird editing style was not carried throughout and kind of confused me. Acting was good, but on a whole it was blahhhh.

TAKEN --***-- Saw this night before last, loved it. Liam Neeson is made of awesome. I liked the story, though it was slightly unbelievable at times. But seriously, good pace, good performances, good length.

PUBLIC ENEMIES --****-- Johnny Depp = Brilliant. Saw it yesterday, and I really enjoyed this one. It was a good, cohesive story and I was totally sucked into 1933. Marion Cotillard also = win. Good job Michael Mann.

Hello, I saw your feature by ~solemnlyswear22 and wanted to extend an invitation to a very creative contest called Harry Potter: The Musical which combines Broadway music with Rowling's first five novels. It should be a blast and I think you'd enjoy checking it out.

Have a good day! :)
